By way of an introduction to who we are and what we do, Sounds from the Street was presented and produced by PG (Jacky) Gleeson in Sydney from February 1994 to January 1997, as well on Australia's ComRadSat briefly in 1996. Following the self-cancellation of the program, some people kept sending us CDs and demos, so rather than return the material, chuck it or leave it in the drawer, we started reviewing what we got.
Cynthia Flanagan joined the service with thanks to a family radio background. This, her love of all types of music from Big Mama Thornton to Green Day and beyond will add to the quality of live reviews that we can provide for artists performing in Sydney and Northern California from Sacramento to San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Our reviews are not only posted here: they are sent to the artists, their management, fanzines, fan and official webpages, booking agents and record labels/distributors. So far, a number of them have been used in press kits, on web sites, in promotional packages, etc, of bands from all stages in their careers and all popular musical genres. Many of Peter's live reviews have been published in Sydney's street press, including The Drum Media and Revolver.
Any reviewed product received by our team is passed on, with a copy of our review/s, for addition to any of a number of radio stations and programs listed below. If you know of anyone that would benefit from our mailing list, why not drop us a line, let us know what music they're into and we'll spread our good news further around!
You can either send product to the Baulkham Hills address in Australia for one review only as well as community/public radio addition in Sydney, or send material to both addresses for a review, radio addtion in Sydney and we will try to do get you on the radio in Sacramento as well.
